Vibrant Minds Private School – FAQ

What is Vibrant Minds Private School?
Vibrant Minds is a full-time K-12 micro school in Washington, Missouri, designed for students who benefit from individualized support and mastery-based learning. We celebrate each student’s unique strengths and empower them to direct their own educational journey in a calm, inclusive, and growth-oriented environment.

What is mastery-based education?
Mastery-based education means students move forward only after they’ve truly understood and mastered each concept or skill. Instead of advancing based on age or grade level, learning is personalized and flexible—students get the time and support they need to succeed at their own pace. This approach builds deep understanding, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Who can enroll?
We welcome K-12 students seeking a full-time, personalized educational experience. Enrollment is open for August 2025.

How do you support neurodivergent learners?
Our environment is intentionally flexible and responsive to a variety of learning needs. We develop individualized plans, offer sensory-friendly spaces, and focus on each student’s strengths. Our goal is to help every child feel seen, understood, and empowered.

What does a typical day look like?
Our days balance structure and freedom. Students start with a gentle transition into the day, followed by core learning, independent reading, lunch, outdoor play, enrichment projects, and a calm wind-down. Activities and pacing are tailored to each student’s needs and interests.

Are you accredited?
We are not yet accredited, but we have begun the accreditation process. Accreditation requires us to submit student work samples and additional documentation, which we can only provide once the school is operating. The full process typically takes about a year, and we’re committed to meeting all required standards.

Umbrella School – FAQ

What is the Umbrella School?
Our Umbrella School is a separate partnership designed to support homeschooling families. Legally, students enrolled through the Umbrella School are considered enrolled in Vibrant Minds Private School, but they do not attend classes on campus. Instead, parents direct all aspects of their child’s education at home.

As an umbrella program, we set the educational standards and requirements as a private school, rather than following state homeschooling guidelines. This allows families more flexibility and support while ensuring official enrollment and compliance.

Is the Umbrella School part of Vibrant Minds Private School?
While the Umbrella School is a separate service in terms of daily operation and focus, students are legally enrolled in Vibrant Minds Private School. All education is parent-directed, and families benefit from the support and standards of a private school.

Who can use the Umbrella School?
Any homeschooling family seeking support in compliance, records, and educational planning.

Do you provide diplomas and transcripts?
Yes! For families enrolled in our Umbrella School partnership, we provide official transcripts and diplomas, ensuring your child’s home-based education is recognized for future opportunities.
